Paragliding enthusiasts, rejoice! Commercial paragliding in Chitwan has finally started. A beautiful district in Nepal known for its natural beauty and diverse wildlife. This new service is being offered by the Himalayan Frontiers Paragliding Company, and the first flight took off on Friday from Chaukidanda.
Shalik Dawadi, the director at the Himalayan Frontiers Paragliding Company, has stated that the service was launched on the occasion of the first day of the Nepali new year (2080BS). While the official inauguration will be held later, the flights have already started to take off.
The paragliders will take off from Chaukidanda in Chitwan and land on the bank of the Trishuli River in the Devghat rural municipality of Tanahun. The price of a flight has been fixed at Rs 8,000, but as a promotional offer, it is being offered at a discounted price of Rs 6,000 for now.
Mr. Dawadi has also shared that they have made preparations so that up to 45 people can fly daily. This is great news for adventure enthusiasts who have been waiting for such an opportunity to experience the thrill of paragliding in Chitwan.
While Nepal’s tourism capital, Pokhara, has been considered the most popular paragliding destination in Nepal, a new international airport built there has virtually closed the activity in the area. This has opened up an opportunity for Chitwan to replace Pokhara as Nepal’s most favored destination for paragliding.
