The deceased in the avalanche in the Khumbu Icefall are Temba Tenji Sherpa (32y/o), Lakpa Rita Sherpa (22y/o), and Badure Sherpa (45 y/o), who guided Image Treks Pvt. Ltd. The cause of the incident that led to the death of the guide was due to the collapse of a glacier that buried the body in a crevice.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dipak Shrestha, the body was being prepared to be transported by helicopter for post-mortem. However, the recovery attempt of the bodies in the crevice was unsuccessful despite the efforts of the SPCS team that went to the scene.
